US President Donald Trump has intensified his campaign efforts in the final days before Tuesday’s midterm elections, urging Americans to support Republican candidates as his party fights to retain control of Congress.
Trump held rallies in Florida, Iowa and Kansas over the final weekend of campaigning, while also participating in virtual campaign events to support Republican candidates in several other states.
The campaign push comes as Republicans face growing pressure over the cost of living, including concerns about grocery prices, fuel and healthcare expenses.
The November 3 elections will determine whether Republicans retain their narrow majorities in the House of Representatives and Senate or whether Democrats gain control of one or both chambers.
At his campaign rallies, Trump sought to defend his administration’s record while directing criticism at the Democratic Party.
He warned supporters that Democrats would damage the country’s economy if they gained control of Congress, accusing them of threatening family finances, immigration enforcement and gun rights.
The president also highlighted his administration’s policies on trade and immigration, urging voters to support Republican candidates who would advance his political agenda.
Trump described the country as having moved from a difficult period into what he called a new golden age under his leadership.
Despite his message, economic concerns remain a major challenge for Republicans, with voters expressing frustration over the cost of everyday goods and services.

Trump’s appearances in Iowa and Kansas have attracted particular attention because Republicans are facing competitive Senate races in both states.
Although Trump has previously won these states comfortably in presidential elections, the current contests have become increasingly important to the Republican Party’s efforts to retain control of the Senate.
In Iowa, Republican Senate candidate Ashley Hinson is facing a challenge from Democrat Josh Turek, while Republican Senator Roger Marshall is defending his seat in Kansas against Democrat Adam Hamilton.
The results could have significant consequences for the balance of power in Washington.
The Democratic campaign also experienced an unexpected development in Michigan after Congresswoman Haley Stevens endorsed Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers.
Stevens had previously lost the Democratic Senate nomination to Abdul El-Sayed, and her endorsement of Rogers triggered criticism from fellow Democrats.
Republicans welcomed the move, with Trump describing Stevens as brave.
However, the development has not changed the Democratic Party’s official support for El-Sayed, whose contest remains important to the party’s efforts to gain Senate control.
The elections are particularly significant because Republicans currently hold narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress.
If Democrats win control of the House, they would gain greater authority to investigate the Trump administration, scrutinise government policies and challenge the president’s legislative agenda.
A Democratic majority in the Senate could also affect the confirmation of presidential nominees and the passage of legislation.
For Trump, the results will provide an important indication of public support for his second-term presidency.
Historically, the party holding the White House often loses congressional seats during midterm elections, making the contest especially challenging for Republicans.
Beyond the political battle between Republicans and Democrats, the outcome will influence decisions affecting millions of Americans.
Issues including inflation, fuel prices, healthcare, immigration, taxation and access to abortion services have featured prominently in the campaign.
With Election Day approaching on November 3, both parties are making their final appeals to voters in an effort to secure control of Congress.
The results could reshape the political landscape in Washington and influence the direction of Trump’s presidency during its remaining two years.
