Tinubu Wouldn’t Push Bold Reforms If He Were Timid – APC Chieftain

A chieftain of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Biodun Ajiboye, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a courageous leader whose ongoing reforms prove he is far from timid.

Speaking on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television, Ajiboye argued that only a leader with exceptional bravery and conviction could undertake the kind of sweeping changes currently being implemented by the Tinubu administration.

“Give me one person that has the ability and bravery of Tinubu,” he said.
“If Bola Tinubu were a timid person, he would not undertake most of the reforms he’s undertaking.”

According to Ajiboye, the president’s actions demonstrate that he is driven by patriotism rather than political convenience.

“This is a patriot who believes that the lives of Nigerians are more important than his returning to power in 2027,” he stated. “He’s been truthful and honest with the Nigerian people. He’s taking the bull by the horns.”

The APC stalwart challenged opposition figures to present a leader with comparable intellect, courage, and experience.

“Now tell me, among the opposition, one person that you think has the kind of intellect, bravery, and knowledge Tinubu has?” he asked. “Which state in Nigeria can compare with Lagos as we speak?”

Ajiboye’s remarks come amid ongoing debates over the administration’s economic and structural reforms, some of which have sparked public criticism. However, he insisted that the president’s willingness to make difficult decisions reflects leadership grounded in long-term national interest.

In his view, Tinubu’s legacy in Lagos State—widely regarded as Nigeria’s most economically advanced state—stands as evidence of the kind of transformation he believes the president is now determined to deliver at the national level.
