Ghanaian rapper and singer Black Sherif has added another international chart achievement to his growing catalogue, with his latest single, “Jolie”, debuting at No. 20 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart.
The song, taken from his six-track SUN SHERIF EP, entered the chart for the week of September 13–19, 2026, marking another appearance on one of the United Kingdom’s key weekly rankings for Afrobeats music.
For Black Sherif, the latest entry is significant not simply because of its position, but because it continues a pattern that has seen his music repeatedly find an audience outside Ghana.
“Jolie” becomes the latest Black Sherif release to appear on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart.
His international breakthrough on the ranking came with “Kwaku The Traveller”, which reached No. 2 and spent 13 weeks on the chart.
He has since returned to the ranking with a number of songs, including “Second Sermon” with Burna Boy, which peaked at No. 8, alongside “Soja”, “Shut Up”, “Kilos Milos”, “Lord I’m Amazed”, “So It Goes”, “Sacrifice”, “PopStar” and “Swagga”.
The latest No. 20 debut therefore represents another addition to an increasingly established UK presence.
Black Sherif’s international rise accelerated dramatically in 2022.
“Kwaku The Traveller” became one of his defining records, reaching No. 2 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and also reaching No. 5 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart.
The song’s success helped introduce the Konongo-born artiste to audiences far beyond Ghana and established him as one of the country’s most visible contemporary musical exports.
Four years later, “Jolie” is providing another reminder of that international reach.
“Jolie” forms part of Black Sherif’s SUN SHERIF EP, released in September 2026.
The project has also generated strong activity in Ghana.
On the Apple Music Ghana chart on September 22, “Jolie” was ranked No. 14, while several other Black Sherif songs were also inside the Top 20, including “Expresso”, “Forever” featuring AratheJay, “Frontline”, “Love Again” featuring Full Blown and “Run Around”.
That suggests the EP’s visibility is not dependent on a single track.
Black Sherif’s achievements extend beyond streaming and chart positions.
In 2023, he won the Best International Flow award at the BET Hip Hop Awards, adding one of the most significant international honours of his career to his growing résumé.
His album projects have also expanded his global profile.
His 2025 sophomore album, Iron Boy, was reported to have debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, while also making an appearance on Spotify’s UK Top Debut Albums chart.
These milestones have helped establish a career that increasingly crosses geographical boundaries.
One of the most interesting aspects of Black Sherif’s rise is the way his music retains a strong Ghanaian identity while connecting with international listeners.
His storytelling, delivery, language and musical influences remain deeply connected to his background.
Yet his songs continue to find space on international charts alongside music from some of the biggest names in Afrobeats.
That combination has become an important part of his appeal.
Black Sherif’s latest achievement also arrives at a time when Ghanaian music continues to compete for international attention within an increasingly crowded African music market.
Nigeria remains a dominant force in the global Afrobeats conversation, while artistes from Ghana, South Africa and other African countries continue to expand their international audiences.
Repeated international chart appearances can therefore matter beyond individual songs.
They provide measurable evidence that Ghanaian music can maintain visibility in major overseas markets.
“Jolie” reaching No. 20 may not be Black Sherif’s highest position on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart, but its importance lies in the consistency behind the result.
A single international hit can happen once.
Returning to the same major market with different songs over several years tells a different story.
From “Kwaku The Traveller” to “Second Sermon”, “So It Goes”, “PopStar”, “Swagga” and now “Jolie”, Black Sherif has continued to build a catalogue capable of travelling beyond Ghana.
The next challenge will be converting that recurring international attention into an even broader global audience, stronger touring opportunities, commercial partnerships and long-term influence.
For now, “Jolie” is another milestone in a career that continues to carry Ghanaian music across borders.
And Black Sherif’s international journey is far from over. 🇬🇭🌍🎶
